Kits N'Sync

Well, you are all wondering, did the kitchen arrive on Saturday as promised?? Nooooooooo (but at least the wardrobes and hall cupboard did instead)

Builder said he was pulling his hair out, and it would def arrive on Monday pm. Optomistic Joe cycled over to have a look last night, but still no kitchen. Will we be living off microwave meals forevah....

Kitsch Inn

Oh me oh my, when will our kitchen arrive?

It was meant to be last Friday, then Friday became Monday, then "Tuesday morning with 2 carpenters", Wednesday came and went, promised for Thursday afternoon, emailed and assured it would be in on Friday, today we've been told Saturday 8am! But the doors are wrong and need to be reordered :(

Hmm, save us from this insanity (no, not the CD store...)

the house - week 963.2

We've finally nutted out a date to move back in to the house, yay, smashing! (a very English phrase I'm told). Only a few more weeks of tippy-tappy upstairs, Because-of-You girls and wee-smells in the stairway. Tony the Greek neighbour will be pleased to have us back too.

The house still won't be finished, no worktops in the kitchen, but we can live with that - takeaways, here we come. No cooking or washing up, double yay & super-smashing-great!

ps the picture in the last post (what is this?) is the base for our bathroom vanity/basin unit, not a kitty-spa as suggested by one of our lovely listeners

reigning

Well my parents have now done their in-depth tour of Melbourne (from 9am-5pm on Monday), greeting by Joe, myself and cold drizzle at port melbourne dock. All our plans of walking along the sea-front to see the new house were out the window, we scurried back to the apartment crowding under one miniscule umbrella. We had to distract my Mum with the internet for a while, then got Melbourne's filthiest bus over to see the house - not quite finished but they liked it. Then I had the bright idea of getting the bus into the city to go to Southbank for lunch, for a stroll along the river. Oh, what fun we had on the riverbank, rain and wind blowing the brollie inside-out. Why didn't they believe me saying that we'd had 30-40 degree days for the past two weeks......
