Do you ever think about nerds?

I don’t often, but I’ve noticed an increasing number of folk around me at work that like to refer to themselves as nerds.

I was researching some Bayesian filtering techniques to minimise Spam (an issue I am currently spending my days working on for my client) when I came across an essay writhen by Paul Graham on the subject of 'Why Nerds are unpopular'. It makesa good read, especially for me who was probably someplace in the middle ground at school, neither the top dog nor ever categorised as a nerd (my dyslexia was usefull for something then ). Have a read, I think we can all identify with bits of it in one way or another.
