what is this?

as an alternative to 'where is dino' this week, is 'what on earth is this insect??'

it was the first official visitor to our new house - well it sat on the living room window all evening, doing some funny wiggly dance

any ideas....? oh, and its HUGE

Hi Guys

This lovely is a "Praying mantiss' - because it stands on its back legs and holds it front legs under its chin as though it is praying. It's dance is to mimic the swaying of twigs in the breeze - and usually you can't detect them on the green bushes [not that there are any in your yard!]

Not good kitten tucker!
