what we did this weekend

Saturday: took the bus into the CBD which was full of what I thought was either drag-queens or bridesmaids, but turns out was 'ladies going to the races'. In any case, there was so many hats with feathers in it was like being in the birdhouse at Melbourne Zoo.
We then got on a tram to South Yarra to see David our architect to see a sample of the doors for our kitchen-to-be. The choice of finish was two-pac or vinyl-wrap (both of which sound like hip hop artists). We then waited a mere 30 minutes for the next clattery old tram up Toorak Road to Richmond for another visit to the door handle shop. Yes, we know how to live it up at the weekends. We changed our minds from last weekend, and have since changed them again.

Sunday: We hired a car for 2 days, as Tuesday is Melbourne Cup Day and we have both got Monday off work. Drove out to Mornington listening to Disturbed, took in the sights of Frankston, had a picnic at Rosebud Beach, was pursued by a motorbike up the curly road to Arthurs Seat and went along to sneer at the new showhouse they've built on Edithvale Wetlands. We then went out for dinner to The Curry Club and had some very good cottage cheese/potato balls in tikka sauce. Oh, and spicy rice pudding made with long grain rice.

Monday: I bought a new bike! Pics to come soon (I'm picking it up next weekend)
